We begin the ascent to Uhuru Peak (5,895 m) from the entrance gate to the Kilimanjaro National Park called Marangu.
Our destination of this first day are the huts of Mandara Huts refuge where we will spend the night.
The route is developed by a comfortable road, well preserved in a rustic way, which runs through a lush forest where we could see several examples of "blue" monkeys
In the Mandara Huts camp they put the whole group in a double bunk bedroom where we all ten. This first night was characterized because every hour, or two hours at most, someone left the cabin because of the Edemox effect -medicamento that we all used to avoid altitude sickness- and drained abundantly. That tonic was maintained every day until we got off Kilimanjaro and stopped taking the Edemox. I believe that this dynamic helped us to rest badly at night and each day that passed the fatigue accumulated.
