[ENGLISH] [See below for the Spanish version]
Ascent to Kilimanjaro by the route Lemosho in 8 days, distributed in 9 stages (6 stages of approach, 1 stage of attack to the top, 2 of descent), with a total of 67.05 kms of route and 9857m of accumulated altitude (4635m of ascent and 5222m of descent).
We started the day, as all previous, with a radiant sun, today as an exception, accompany us throughout the short stage, the last approach and prelude to the harsh stages of ascension, return and descent of tomorrow. From the camp you can see the glaciers on the south face of Mount Kibo very close. Around 8am we start from Karanga Camp (4020 masl) and we advance on a path that initially gains height quickly, with a slope of 15%, up to a plateau with slight uphill and downhill slopes that make the final ascent to the Barafu Camp (4680msnm), which we access through a short but technical step in which we help each other on occasion. The route makes a 90º turn towards NW and leads the ridge that leads in scarce 200m to the rangers' house. In Barafu we expect a very strong and sustained wind, with gusts of about 80kms / h, which accompanies us throughout the afternoon of supposed rest, (which is not, because of the deafening noise it provokes) and throughout the ascent and descent the next day. Throughout the afternoon the weather is extremely changeable, going from calm and sun to strong gusty wind and snow granulated in a few seconds. the next day we will know that our tent and the toilet have been damaged by the wind.
