[ENGLISH] [See below for the Spanish version]
Ascent to Kilimanjaro by the route Lemosho in 8 days, distributed in 9 stages (6 stages of approach, 1 stage of attack to the top, 2 of descent), with a total of 67.05 kms of route and 9857m of accumulated altitude (4635m of ascent and 5222m of descent).
We start the fifth and penultimate day of approaching with a sunny day that greets the imposing view of Mount Kibo (object of our ascent) and its glaciers of the south face. The sunrise is accompanied by a beautiful view of the sea of clouds on which the camp seems to float. About 7 o'clock we started towards the first challenge of the day, the "Barranco Wall", an almost vertical wall, which is almost the only place on the route where we progress by helping with our hands. The itinerary progresses in a serpentine way along two 250m of unevenness, and it is very evident since it is completely marked by the bearers who ascend. There are only a couple of short steps that go to difficulty II-III, but it is amazing to see the porters raffle them with an incredible ease, carrying many of them loaded in the head. Once the Barranco Wall is over, a stop is required, not so much for rest, but to admire the incredible views towards the Kibo, on one side, and towards the valley, the sea of clouds and Mount Meru, on the other. The rest of the itinerary, in which today (for once!) The sun seems to accompany us until almost the end, alternates ascents and descents of variable slopes, sometimes slightly technical but without any exposure. In the final section prior to the Karanga Camp there is a very steep descent followed by a rise of about 600m with a steep slope (of 25%). Right at the end of the slope we arrive at camp, where we proceed as every day to register in the official book and carry out the routines of the day of cleanliness, food and rest. Since the day has been short and smooth, we took advantage of several short walks around the course, in one of which we took advantage to ascend to level 4100 to acclimate.
