[ENGLISH] [see below for Spanish version]
Ascent to Kilimanjaro by the route Lemosho in 8 days, distributed in 9 stages (6 stages of approach, 1 stage of attack to the top, 2 of descent), with a total of 67.05 kms of route and 9857m of accumulated altitude (4635m of ascent and 5222m of descent).
The first stage is preceded the same day by the pick up at the Moshi hotel (850m) by the team (consisting of two guides, a cook, a waiter and 4 porters) and driving by road (first of asphalt, and in the last kilometers of land) for 2h 30 min until you reach the entrance to the Kilimanjaro National Park (Londorossi Gate, 2250msnm). There we proceed to the registration of the two expedition members (a routine that we will follow each day upon arriving at the next camp) and the team proceeds to weigh the load of each of the members, which can not exceed 15Kgs plus 5 Kgs of personal material).
After a lunch, we start again the route by forest post (30 min) crossing fields of potato cultivation and reforestation groves until Lemosho Glades (2390msnm), where the first stage of approaching on foot begins, that leads us in 2 hours until Mti Mkubwua Camp (in English, Big Tree Camp), at 2790msnm, where our team sets up the first camp on the route. Along this short journey, very muddy and with moderate to strong slopes, we observe flora and fauna typical of rainforests ("rainforest"). Once installed, we take a walk around the camp, where we can observe a colobus colony.
