Itinerary description

Musa ka Musalla (Urdu: موسیٰ کا مصلیٰ transl. Moses' mat) is a peak standing at an altitude of about 4,100 metres (13,500 ft) at the junction of Siran and Kaghan Valleys in Himalayas.
It is situated 150 kilometres (93 mi) north of the city of Abbottabad in Balakot Tehsil of Mansehra District.

From many routes available, we took most common route from Munda Gacha.
On day 1, we hiked from Munda Gacha to Khori.

Khori is a lower base camp, whereas a higher base camp "Gali" is on 40 minutes hike from Khori.
As compared to Gali, Khori is populated and is a long meadow.
Gali also has strong winds and turns very cold at night. But seasoned trekkers prefer Gali as it saves time on day 2.

On Day 2, not only we hiked from Khori to summit but also went back to Munda Gucha.
In my previous attempt, we came back and stayed the night at Khori.

Khori Mosque

We stayed at Khori Mosque. Mosque is well built with tin roof and fully protected against with from all the 4 sides. There was another hut next to it which we used for cooking and camping. It had 3 walls. Locals do not like if you go inside the mosque with shoes on. Our cook would keep managing our shoes which we would leave here and there in mosque. We left early in the morning and it was big chilly in the start but since hike to Gali is pretty steep so our body warmed up quickly.

Gali Base Camp

Gali base camp is last settlement before the MKM summit. However we did not find anyone in Gali, except one shepherded. A lamp was too cute but when I tried to take the picture I realized it's eyes had a severe infection. Later in summer Gali is loaded with goats, sheep and cows.

Panoramic View

I divide the steep climb to summit into several parts. First one is just after Gali, which is green. Next one is less green. And final one is least or no green at all. Every part offers spectacular views. This spot is at end of the first green part
