Itinerary description
The trail follows the Jeep road going out of Paudwar, steadily downhill. The scenery is beautiful, rice terraces and small villages, completely different from the rest of the treck. If you wish to descend faster, check out the shortcuts the locals take to cut the road curves. It was a holiday so we only encountered few people and one jeep until we got to the river. The only difficult point is once you get very close to the truck bridge (on the opposite river bank) and river junctions. Unfortunately, the GPS was not functioning properly, so I will try to explain the path. If you follow the road straight down, you will have to cross a river (the road continues afterwards and makes a detour to get to the metal truck bridge). Instead, just before the electricity lines cross the road, you will see a steep path on your right. If you look down, you will see a pedestrian bridge that gets right under the white house on the other bank, at the river junction. Take the parh and you will get closer to the river. You will cross under the electricity lines and get to two houses, where you will see 3 pedestrian bridges going to the white house, plus the big truck bridge. Do not take them. Instead, look in the opposite direction from the sign showing 'ghorepani' and you will see the right pedestrian bridge, a few steps higher. It crosses the larger river. It will take you directly to the Jeep road going to Jomsom (slightly ascending). You can follow this road until Tatopani or get one of the many jeeps or buses which pass in that direction. Unfortunately, the GPS did not capture this last stretch, but it is about 2km. The hot springs are 5 min on foot from the village center, where you will find lodges, the bus station and jeeps.
