Itinerary description
The trail goes down from the Bayati Lodge. Two minutes down the path, you will see a road bifurcation with a sign showing Khopra as going up. That is the way to the High trail, that we did not take. We instead continued straight, slightly downwards. The path descends through alpine meadows, with great views and rhododendron trees. This section has no difficulty, even people who are scared of heights will be ok, as the trail is much wider and the drops less high and steep. The trail continues through a forest until the Junction with the road leading to Swanta. There is a spring on this spot. Afterwards, the trail continues downhill through the forest. The markings are quite scarce, but the path is easy to follow. There are a few sunny spots where you will see yaks. At the lowest altitude point, there are two river crossings, separated by a small hill that needs to be climbed and then descended. Afterwards, the way goes up, on a steep path through the forest. As you approach Chistibang, the path is less inclined, but quite narrow.
