Itinerary description
After one acclimatization day, one can ascent directly from Khare, 4900 m, to the Mera High Camp, 5800 m. Other parties prefer to set up an intermediate camp at the Mera La, approximately 5300 m. The first half is on rocks, the second is on the glacier. However, you need not to rope since the trail is well marked and there is virtually no danger of hidden crevasses.
