Itinerary description
10-AUG-09. This walk from Milngavie to Glasgow centre is referred to as the Kelvin Walkway in many places but on the ground it is the Allander Walkway for the first 3km until the Allander runs into the Kelvin. The route is a worthy Southern extension to the West Highland Way and surprisingly almost all is in rural areas or in attractive parkland. The rural parts are quite overgrown in Summer but the way is clear. This route gave up following the Kelvin at the Transport Museam and we made our way to the helepad (the official end) and then along the Clyde to the station at the SECC exhibition centre. Direct trains back to Milngavie.
