Itinerary description
PLEASE NOTE!! "Directions to trailhead" do not take you to the start of the trail. You will see the red balloon pin drop were you need to go. Google maps does not recognise any trails leading to the church of Kato Archimandrita.
Coming through Kouklia on F612 turn right by the big blue water tower.
( see photos 7 + 8 + 9) and that road will take you down to the church.👍
You can park at the church and walk down past the ruins to the start of the trail if you like, we drove down a bit further and you will see where we parked the car on the last photo.😉👍
We did this walk in reverse because of the steep incline that would have been at the end of the trail, and it worked out very well.
Concrete, gravel, and hard mud tracks, with beautiful scenery. Plenty of shade at the beginning and end of the trail.
There was no water in the river bed, so crossing over, here and there, was without wet feet.☺️, someone who walked the trail in November said it was flooded with a fast current, so pick a good time of year to do this wonderful trail.
We helped a little chameleon named "Bob" across the trail, first one we've seen this year.
Finished off looking around the ruins of the village, a good day was had by all, ate lunch in the old church yard in the shade, and finished off with coffee in " The meeting place" in Kouklia.

A perfect idea to do the trail in reverse to have the difficult part at the beginning
