Itinerary description
Karwendeltour from Hinterriß to Pertisau in 4 stages
Day 1 (11/09/2023): Hinterriß - Falkenhütte
I took a train from Munich to Lenggries and then a bus from there to Hinterriß. Most of the stage was going uphill through steep but not technical at all paths (some of them were also suitable for MTB). I left the backpack at Falkenhütte and made the summit of Mahnkopf (1h 15min approximately back and forth).
Day 2 (12/09/2023): Falkenhütte - Gamsjoch - Eng Alm
I followed a pretty easy trail until the steep ascension to Gamsjoch starts. The ascension is not very technical, it has some steep stretches with loose rocks which is a bit slippery, but there is no exposed section nor risk of getting injured. Getting to the second summit of Gamsjoch is relatively easy without a backpack. There is also a trail that goes more directly to Eng Alm after descending Gamsjoch, but it is very steep and slippery, not recommended.
Day 3 (13/09/2023): Eng Alm - Lamsenjochhütte
Steep ascension to the hut without any technical difficulty. Once at the hut, I left the backpack and tried to do the summit Schafjochl, but i went down due to bad weather before reaching the summit. There are exposed parts where you need to use the hands to climb at the top of this mountain. Another possible summit from Lamsenjochhütte is Lamsenjochspitze, but one needs Via Ferrata equipment and helmet.
Day 4 (14/09/2023) Lamsenjochhütte - Pertisau
Steep ascension first to Hahnkampl and then to Sonnjoch without much technical difficulty (a bit slippery at some point, but no exposed sections). The way down to Pertisau after Gramai Alm is very easy, going through tracks.
