Itinerary description
Warning: Lots of bees. Can be dangerous for people with allergies to bee stinks!!!!!
I followed the waymarks and they led me through a path which didn't match the GPS record. I'd reccomend to stick to GPS the route's original records, not this one.
Season: Late autumn to early spring is best. Even winter is okay. Summer will be oh-so-miserable.
!!Water sources!!: No neutral water sources. Only few houses on the trail, you may try your luck to resupply water. I had 2lt of water at the end of October, and it was NOT enough!!
Transportation: From Dalaman airport, or nearby cities, frequent public transport to the Marmaris junction. (A Marmaris bus departs from the airport for every plane that lands). From the junction, 20mins walking to Akyaka, or a minibus, which runs every half hour.
Akyaka has ATM, first aid, and everything else. Çardak has nothing. Public transport from/to Çardak rare (one bus every hour?), but hitching is common and safe.
Very nice route, at the beginning a bit boring since it passes wide roads, on the second half it follows single tracks, which are a joy to walk.
However, the waymarks are not accurate and sometimes very hard to follow. A GPS is essential. Don't rely on the waymarks.
