Itinerary description
Long stops have been simplified to avoid visual cluttering.
The bottom of the valley rises gently but it is narrow, the side hangs (when accessible) as well as the ascent to the Açılı vadisi church are however pretty steep and eroded. This church could be more easily accessed from the top of the plateau (track starts in Karlık), in combination with a visit to the roman necropolis in the upper cirque of the Kurtdere.
In spring a stream might run through the valley.
Last time we visited it (April 2014) there were signs of grazing cows in the lower part of the valley. Further up, where the cows did not venture, there were canine droppings and wild boar tracks.
