Itinerary description
Trails follow coast and "Kings Highway". Spectacular views to ocean and to Haleakala. Probably see goats, maybe cows, maybe dolphins. Not much shade, very hot, take more water than you normally do. Much of the trail is loose lava rock requiring eyes on the ground.
Some private land, watch for signs and show respect. Some pre contact ruins, show respect.
Route is out and back from parking at end of Makena Road, so turn back when you get tired.
