Itinerary description
This is not official trail but it is very easy to follow.
It starts at Kampi tou Kalogirou camping/picnic site and runs to Prodromos village in parallel to the main asphalt road on the both sides.
The forest around is fantastic and full of various plant species - calabrian pines, golden oaks, strawberry trees, cedars, etc., as well as numerous orchards and wild cherries.
There is another version of this trail, a bit longer with a moderate difficulty, for those who don't like it easy ;) - https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/kampi-tou-kalogirou-prodromos-palaiomylos-trikoukkia-v-2-139253215
TERRAIN: mainly dirt-gravel car road, some concrete roads and part of main and side asphalt roads. Easy ascents and descents.
SEASON: at least about 50% of the trail is in shade depending on the time of the day, so potentially can be walked all year round. Seasonal rivers which cross the trail at a few points can erode the road and add to the wet crossing.
SIGNS: no signs (apart from E4) and resting places with the exception of the view point. Water supply can be renewed at the small shops on the roundabout in Prodromos.
KIDS: walkable with kids, even prams with good amortization are possible. Just assess the length of the trail.
