Itinerary description
Kampi tou Kalogirou - Prodromos
This route starts opposite the picnic site at Kampi tou Kalogirou. It runs almost parallel to the main road towards Prodromos on one side, then crosses over at the roundabout of Prodromos village and returns along the other side of the road back to the picnic site.
It is a mixed surface route with long sections of dirt roads through the beautiful forest, and a smaller section along a cement path through cherry orchards, and another small section along the actual asphalt road.
It is not a designated nature trail, but offers plenty of pleasant surprises (depending on the season), and some great views from above.
In the month of June, after a very rainy winter, there was still plenty of water at different locations, cherry trees were full of fruit, and if you're lucky you can catch sight of the very timid moufflons (mountain goats).
Overall an easy and comfortable walk, with the exception of two steep but short uphill sections, roughly midway.
