Simple excursion to see the Kakabeka waterfall, on the Kaministiquia river, as well as its smaller version downstream in a small tributary that converges in the same river.
I arrived by bus from Thunder Bay (GoKasper), so I started the route before the main parking lot. But if you arrive by car, the route starts in the same place where it ends.
The route used to reach the small waterfall follows the same route that has been used for centuries, first by the indigenous people, and later by French and English explorers and soldiers, to transport merchandise and canoes upstream of Lake Superior.
The path is simple, only with a couple of points with a steep slope.
