Itinerary description
Kachaghakaberd ( Կաչաղակաբերդ ) is a huge rock - fortress in Artakh region, Armenia.
It has several routes, this one heads to it from Qolatak ( Քոլատակ ) village and not one of the easiest ones.
Kachaghakaberd is a symbol of Artsakh's stength and durability. It's the place where you will come again and again.
Some informaion about the trail:
--- This is only one direction route, if you climb from Qolatak and return by the same way,, the length of the trail will be 16 km.
--- You can climb Kachaghakaberd in every season, though winter is snowy there, it is still doable.
--- The best season for Kachaghakaberd's beauty is May (greeenery - yes, hot-not) and from the middle of October till the middle of November (colorful autumn of Artakh).
--- The trail is blazed by Chanaparh trails ( Ճանապարհ ), but the path gets confused oftenly , so GPS is must.
