Itinerary description

From the end of the Hilina Pali Road this trail goes down the Hilina Pali (cliff) to the Ka'aha camping area on the coast, a total descent of 2300 ft, hereof 1400 ft on the first 1½ miles. The cliff has been formed by an enormous landslide, called the Hilina Slump, that is still ongoing (see Wikipedia). Click "View more" to see more photos from this hike. For more hikes on the Big Island go to the "Hawaii" albums (4 albums) at moyn.dk.
