Itinerary description
From Kasab to Kumzār, 3rd March 2023
This is a very difficult exploration hike, do not try unless you are very experienced and have the proper gear and plan. Terrain is very challenging, no trails, lots of bouldering, climbing.
Hiking distance 32km
Elevation gain 2500m
Beautiful exploration hiking project with Adventure Extreme / Abdeslam, last hard hike of the season.
Saturday Start hike: 26.147903, 56.302489 in Kasab, End hike Kumzar Village on Sunday evening.
Camp Friday night: 26.142956, 56.289864
Carried 4.5l of water and refilled in 2 villages, plus food and snacks for 2 days, clothes and sleeping bags. Garbage bags added on top of the sleeping bag for warmth :D.
Day 1 Saturday: 18km, very challenging hiking terrain, with high ridges that required a lot of up-down and left-right exploration to find the way forward, a combination of huge boulders, vertical walls and loose terrain makes this part tricky, the approach must be done with extreme caution. Most of the elevation gain is done in day 1.
Passed through "3 ropes village" where 2 local women gave us water and fruits.
Could not find a way to pass from Two seas view point, stopped at sunset and camped overnight at the point Two seas view, 26.199540469912975, 56.39139865469267, cooked beans and soup at the bonfire.
Day 2 Sunday: boat ride to village Sibi for water refill and then from the village the boat took us to a couple of gulfs further where we would be closer to known terrain(from previous Kumzar hike), hiking distance 12km all the way to Kumzar, finishing through a beautiful balcony and stairs trail made by locals. Brief chat with a group of local women met in the village, goats were eating cardboard boxes :P . From Kumzar, nice boat ride to Kasab with a local, saw a big turtle, dolphins and many seagulls on the way. In Kasab, 15 min car ride with Mohamed to the car part/start hike.
