Itinerary description
This is a very well developed 9K stretch of the Juan de Fuca trail with many bridges, ladders and improvements. Much of it is very nice woodland trail. That said, there are some difficulties such as the prolonged hike over beach boulders at the beginning and steep ascents that will have you breathing hard. Tripping over roots is a typical hazard. The views and beaches are very nice. Lots of fungi in the late summer and fall. There ar 2 glitches in the recorded trail shown: 1. The doubling back at the beginning is unnecessary, and 2. The straight stretch at the end resulted from accidentally pausing of recording. Also, some error resulted in Wikilocs recording a doubling of the hike distance—perhaps adding the return length of the car ride back from the China Beack parking area.
