Itinerary description
The Falougha and Kfarselwan ponds are especially captivating during this time of year, brimming with water from the recent snow melt. Spring unveils the unparalleled beauty surrounding Mount Kneisseh, offering an ideal opportunity for exploration. Commencing from "Jouar el Haouz," I embarked on the LMT section 16, traversing through Mtein to Falougha. The journey unfolds amidst serene pine forests, leading to the breathtaking Kfarselwan water ponds. En route, a refreshing fountain, Ain Rijme, offers a delightful respite. Upon reaching this point, the path diverges: continue along the main trail beneath Mount Kneisseh towards Tarchich, or opt for the LMT ascent to Falougha. Choosing the latter, I deviated from the trail at a certain point to discover an enchanting off-trail viewpoint. Rejoining the mountain trail, I ascended further, diverging from the path that leads to the summit and instead descending towards the ponds. The descent unveils picturesque vistas of lush green fields and abundant springs, enhancing the hiking experience. Undoubtedly, this excursion ranks among the most captivating spring hikes in Lebanon. Embrace the splendor of nature and prioritize safety throughout your journey. Your feedback upon traversing these trails is invaluable, aiding fellow hikers in their explorations. Happy trails!
