JOSHUA TREE NATIONAL PARK: Skull Rock

The Joshua Tree National Park is a Southern California National Park located between the Colorado and Mojave Deserts. Its more famous characteristic are the "Joshua Trees", but is also surprising for the great variety of desert vegetation and animals, as well as for its amazing geology.
This a very short hike from the “White Tank” camping area to the “Skull rock”, a huge rock that looks like an animal skull. During the path you can see amazing rocks and varied desert vegetation. Very very easy hike, though really interesting to take nice pictures.
Joshua Tree National Park offers hikers amazing landscapes and a breathtaking solitude (if visited out of the high season). The hottest times of the year should be avoided.

El Joshua Tree National Park és un parc nacional americà del Sud de Califòrnia, situat entre el desert del Colorado i el desert Mojave. El més característic són els "Joshua Trees" o arbres de Josuè, però també sorpren per la varietat de vegetació desèrtica i animals que hi podem trobar, així com per una increïble geologia.
Aquesta és una excursió molt curta des del parking de l'àrea d'acampada "White Tank", per visitar la "Skull Rock", una roca gegant que recorda el crani d'un animal. Durant el camí podreu veure formacions rocoses al.lucinants i una variada vegetació del desert. Sortida molt molt senzilla, però molt interessant pel paisatge i per fer fotografies.
El parc nacional de Joshua Tree ofereix paisatges fascinants i una solitud sorprenent (si es recorre fora de la temporada alta). Cal evitar les èpoques de més calor.
Nota: les fotos de l'arc de pedra "Arch Rock" queden fora del track.
