Jezersko - Plansarsko Jezero - Goloi Vrh 2022-08-01 8:34
(With this route, I have reached number 1,000 ;-)
After a two-year wait, due to the restrictions of the COVID-19, this summer we went to see a little Slovenia. As on other occasions, with the help of Ramon de Giroguies , who has found us an alternative adjusted to the objectives. You will see that they are a set of several self-guided routes, which have the particularity of being easy and of a distance of less than 20 km. In some cases you can make small extensions to complete the route. They have also provided us with travel, accommodation and breakfast, lunch en route and dinner is no challenge for where we have stayed. During these seven days we will have covered about 125 km. +4,475 m. -5,870 m.
Today, the third day, it was time to summit Goloi. Ariadna asked us if we wanted her to meet us at the car park, in order to make the shortest climb, but we wanted to stretch our legs early in the morning... we went straight there on foot.
The parking lot is large, it was not completely full, but it will most likely be regulated in a short time. It starts in a track format, but soon transforms into a beautiful path between tree roots that climbs well. The impressive forest, with very large trees. Little by little we reach the pass, where there is a shelter and where our hiking companions these days (Anne from Denmark and Kelly from the USA) were quietly sitting contemplating the landscape.
We stop for a few minutes to pat her, and then straight to the top. Now the path becomes a path with a steep slope. Everything is very well marked, impossible to get lost. Finally we see the sky, the trees end, and we can contemplate the landscape that opens up in front of us... 360º. We are touching Austria, in fact one foot in each country. Up there is a beautiful wooden cross. Since it's very hot and there's no wind, the summit is full of insects... and we decide to go down the pass for a bite.
Arriving back at the pass, we take the bench (a two-seater wooden one made of trinca) and eat lunch while contemplating the landscape, now we recognize the shape of the mountain, like that of an old woman, the "Baba", and we can clearly see the refuge from the previous day and another nearby. We talk to different walkers we meet, usually from the country. And straight ahead, because today we will sleep in Preddvor.
We saw several feet of Atropa Belladonna again, with the characteristic black fruits.
