Itinerary description
we parked at the tannourine - hadath el jebbe road, the first kilometer of the hike was on an asphalt side road that that was closed by rocks since its winter (they close the side roads in winter since the houses are empty), in summer time usually its open and u can continue by car this kilomter.
after this small uphill part on asphalt, we started climbing up on a steep uphill slope, this part is physically demanding but very nice and the views are rewarding, this part is well demarcated, with a clear trail, reaching the top of the hill, we left the trail and took a dirt mountain road, it was muddy and we walked some parts on snow , we followed the road till we reached the rahwe plateau, the views were very nice on the hills covered bu a thin layer of snow, at the end of the rahwe plateau we got to the rahwe spring water, that feed most of tannourine by potable water (with an underground tunnel inside the mountain),
from the fountain we continued following the trail till we reached the cross on top of the cliff, at this spot the view is amazing and beyond description, over all batroun area , hadath el jebbe, ehden and even the makmel mountain covered by snow.
from this point and the next 2 kms were walking on a rock cliff 400m high, the trail is very narrow, ( NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE FEAR OF HEIGHTS),
and that was very dangerous at this time of the year cause it was covered with snow and very slippery (NOT RECOMMENDED IN SNOW SEASON) but the views were super amazing.
after that the trail continued in the valley downhill and the last 2 km were on a closed asphalt road passing through apple trees.
Amazing trail but better to be equipped with proper shoes and hiking poles to do it, and not recommended in snow season and for people who are afraid of heights.
