Itinerary description
This is one of the classical hikes in the Berchtesgaden National Park
https://www.nationalpark-berchtesgaden.de/english/adventure/tips/hike/index.htm
and highlighted on a Lonely Planet hiking guide for the Alps. I cannot praise the view from the top as it was covered when we reached the top of Jenner, but the hike is really lovely, with wonderful alpine landscapes, a couple of Alms on the way and multiple options. Instead of coming all the way down to the lake it is possible a less strenuous hike to the middle station. Also a longer version is possible as described here

The trail as described here is not very long but has a strong negative slope that is taxing to the knees if you are not used to this sort of hikes.
