Itinerary description
The area recreativa where we started this walk is a good startuing point for all kinds of walks here, all dominated by the imposing size of the Montgó. The area is shaded, there are enough parking places and there are many picknick tables.
We walked towards the Torre del Gerrro, situated above Denia. From here you could go down along the concrete road and then take the caostal path to the Tallada cave, from there you can go up again to the plain following the yellow/white track and then go back to the area recreativa.
However, we walked back the same track we went to the watchtower and at the distinctive landmark took a track to the hamlet of La Serpeta from where we took a narrow track going some 50 metres down giving you wonderful views of the bay of Jávea.
Richt underneath the first three windmills a steep climb goes to these mills and from there it is less than 2 kilometres to the area recreativa.
