Itinerary description
You can leave your car in Parcheggio parking lot for free and take the funicular to Alpi Di Siusi for 20 Euros both ways and it closes at 18h00 (check with them once there).
Enjoy the ride, it is relatively long and you will have a beautiful view over the town of Siusi, the surrounding pastures and the mountains.
Once there, and if it is not the high season, you better check the board for the opened huts before you chose your trail.
At the start we followed trail 14 going uphill. The more you go up the more you will see the green pastures. Don't miss those panoramic views on your way and take lot of pics of the huts too.
At 800 m from the start, take your left and stay on the 14. You will be closing the loop from the right. If you want, you can do the trail taking the opposite direction.
At 1200 m start following trail PU. You will encounter lot of benches and resting spots on your way. Enjoy the scenery whenever you can and as much as you can.
From 3 km till 5.5 km you will be walking with a steep cliff on your right and an awesome view over the town of Castelrotto to the town of Ortisei. The trail is very pleasant and easy to follow.
At 4 km from the starting point you will reach the Arnica Hutte. I would recommend you a platter of eggs and bacon with potatoes without forgetting the ice cold beer. Cheers !!!
From there, take the direction of trail 24.
Once at the Bullaccia Punto Panoramico point, it was our second stop with some cheese and wine.
The weather was getting worse so we had to move and close the loop ASAP.
At 7.2 km from starting point, follow the 14A to your left towards Punto Panoramico.
From there take the PU trail again towards Baita Tschotsch and reach back the funicular.
Not enough words to describe the place and scenery.
Easy to moderate hike.
Enjoy and keep it clean !!!
