Itinerary description
It was raining all day but the weather conditions didn't stop us from driving to Lago Di Misurina trying to find the best way to reach the Cadini Di Misurina famous view point.
This would be our second hike of the day after the Siusi - Castelrotto one.
The easiest way to reach the place is by driving to Rifugio Auronzo, park the car and walk for around 60 min. Back and forth.
The only problem was that the road to the Rifugio is closed till June 01. We have to leave the car in a parking lot and walk on a steep uphill asphalt road for 7 km. This was out of question because it was getting late (17:00) but returning to the hotel without reaching our destination wasn't an option too.
We managed to pass the closed gate (don't ask me how ...), parked the car near the Refugio and begun the hike.
Once there, it was freezing, the temperature is between zero and 2 degrees and fresh new snow was covering the ground.
The scenery is by far the best ever. Not enough words to describe the place, the mountains, the valleys, the views.
I was in awe.
Just check the pictures and you will know what I am talking about.
If it happens that you are in the area, this is a must visit place.
Easy hike and trail (a bit tricky and slippery in some places) but if you are with Acrophobia (fear of heights) this isn't the place for you to visit.
It was an unforgettable hike in an unforgettable place.
Enjoy !!!
