Itinerary description
Please note, this loop uses a section of via ferrata. It is important to do it in good weather conditions and to have the appropriate equipment.
The departure is from Pomonte to climb directly to the top of Mount Capane. A variant is possible via the valley and the GTE. The climb is quite technical, especially on the first 5 kilometers because the trails are rugged.
To descend it is necessary to go through the via-ferrata section "Massimo Russo" (https://www.infoelba.com/sports-free-time/land-sports/trekking/routes-paths/iron-footholds-route /?_ga=2.82143455.878157695.1684683848-308828794.1684683848).
If you do not feel able to do the first ascents with the metal ropes, the wisest thing is to descend by the same path as the ascent.
The via ferrata is about 2km, after you join the GTE trail and it is possible to go down easily to Pomonte.
