Itinerary description
This is the walk I recorded when I did a free city walk organized by Viaubris (booked via Guruwalk.com). The walk lasted for more than three hours and while the guide was very elaborate in telling the history and culture of Istanbul, it's not the most complete walk of Istanbul.
As almost any free city walk the route starts at the fountain which is situated between the Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. Attractions in the vicinity are visited such as the Topkapi palace, but not all of them. The Arasta Bazaar for example was skipped as well as other sites. The tour ends in he neighbourhood of Little Hagia Sophia.
I recommend doing a city tour of Istanbul with Viaubris (or another organisation), but with the explicit remark that you do it for learning the history and culture of the city and not for the route itself. There are far better and more complete city walks of Istanbul on Wikiloc than this one.
