Itinerary description
Sunscreen ans sunglasses are a must for crossing acres of granite. I suggest packing along a parka or hoodie at least in case of weather issues. Take plenty of water and snacks. Hiking poles are a fantastic help! To backpack, you'll need to contact a ranger station or go online to Desolation Wilderness and get it there. There are fees, and no campfires are allowed. Fishing up there is very popular; be sure to have your license with you. Difficulty rating higher if you backpack.
