Itinerary description
Catch a 8.30am boat from Copacabana tickets are 25 Bolivian Pesos from the docks.
The boat takes 1&1/2 hours across the beautiful Lake Titicaca.If you decide to stay the night on the island pack light as all the hostels are up a very steep hills for about 500mtrs. We stayed on the dock area in a great hotel (hotel Phaxsi).Follow the stairs up towards the south village, if you follow the path at the signpost Las Velas restuarant( also a great place to eat) to the mirador.The views back to Copacabana are something to behold.
Follow the trail through the village up to the highest point lookout towards the middle of the island.Normally you can walk to the Northern tip but the locals are fighting at present & have closed the trail.Enjoy.
