Itinerary description

Parked at Cronin's yard on a mild February afternoon with little or no wind but some low cloud.
The well maintained path crosses two small bridges before meeting another river crossing (no bridge) 2.5km into Hag's Glen.
Take the small path right of this river and follow the river until reaching the lake at source (Lough Gouragh).
Turn west and head towards the mountain gap between Carrauntoohil mountain and Hag's tooth (see pic 3)... The ascent starts here in earnest and there are a few rock hurdles along the way.
Cummeenoughter Lake (Highest lake in Ireland 707m) is still another 2km away on the third level of the 3 Corrie Glaciers with their waterfalls fast flowing this time of the year.
After reaching this lake the trek usually continues up to the top of Carrauntoohil (preferably via O'Sheas Gully).
Instead, returned the same way as before but (before reaching the bottom of the first Corrie Glacier) continued southeast to meet another popular track near the "Heavenly Gates" (also found the mountain rescue hut in an area known as "Eagles Nest").
Then, heading north... reconnected with the path that we had been on earlier.
