This is a brief route on the island of Inisheer, the smallest of the three that form the Aran archipelago off the coast of Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher, on the west coast of Ireland.
We arrived on the island by ferry and started our journey just past the small beach of the island. There is the closest thing to the runway of an airfield that can fit on an island the size of Inisheer. We surrounded it by a path between it and the coast until we reached an area of stone fences where cattle grazed. We continue our way until we reach the lake of An Loch Mor. From there we follow the route to An Plassey where the old steel skeleton is a stranded ship. It is certainly striking to see it there lying on the rocks.
We continue our route along the west side of the lake, from where you can take good photos with the panoramic view of the pond, the boat and the cliffs of Moher in the background.
We follow the paths between the stone fences of the farms and reach the ruins of the tower of An Tur Faire and also the ruins of the church of Caislean Ui Bhriain.
From there we headed back to the port because the return schedule was conditioned by the ferries that returned us to Doolin.
The route is simple and pleasant to do. The pity is that in our case we were very marked by the schedules of the boats.
