Itinerary description
This was used to be official pedestrian route but most of its marking disappeared. The maps with the route can be seen at Choirokoitia neolithic settlement and in Tochni village, no map at the starting point, ie Kalavasos Tenta. Thus we started our trail from the end.
In the beginning of our trail we followed official Choirokoitia nature trail, which I hiked before (https://www.wikiloc.com/hiking-trails/choirokoitia-nature-trail-64109166) and then tried to follow the route on the map.
Choirokoitia and Tochni are nice little villages with picturesque houses and streets which are worth to explore.
There are almost no trail signs or indications along the way, so I'm not sure that we walked the officially intended route, however we visited all the historical points indicated on the official map and even more.
TERRAIN: mild ascents and descents. Narrow path at the beginning, then combination of asphalt and dirt roads and somewhat deserted motorways.
SEASON: the trail is mostly sun exposed, the nature trail in the beginning has some shade.
SIGNS: very few signs; two maps en route. No resting places.
KIDS: Ok for kids starting 7-8 yo.
