Itinerary description

Trail to Imster Muttekopf (2774 m) starting from Pfafflar. Free parking.

Beware that this trail includes many technical and/or sketchy sections (steep snow patches and climbs without chains)! Our trail planning app was also very optimistic about the total hiking time, which turned out way longer than expected.

The trail first crosses some meadows and forest, then descends towards the Fundoasbach riverbed. Some river crossing later you'll hike up to a higher meadow which in our case had sheep roaming around that also approach the hikers. From this section it becomes more technical with lots of mountaineering sections and paths that cross steep and slippery snow patches.

There was a lot of empty space below the snow (hollow), so we did not risk crossing this one. Instead you can hike around the bottom of the snow patch safely.
