Trip carried out on August 15th 2019.
From Misurina I take the bus to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (€ 8 round trip) which takes me to the bus parking lot just below the Auronzo Refuge.
From here, I take the dirt road (Path 101) which passes along the southern morainic coast of the Tre Cime. Arrived at a small chapel, I go down to a panoramic promontory adorned with two stones and cement that commemorate the Bersaglieri who fought here during the 1st World War.
This viewpoint is great for taking pictures of the three peaks and the Val Manzon below.
I retrace my steps, returning to the dirt road and proceeding again towards the east until I reach the Lavaredo refuge. From here, I follow the path that climbs directly, with some hairpin bends, up to the Forcella di Lavaredo, where I stop for some photos.
Since I had already walked the classic path the day before that descends and then climbs up to the Locatelli Refuge, I decide to climb the saddle and take the high path that passes under the Paterno and Cime Passaporto wall. The path goes up and down much less than the classic one, but it is more exposed and has some stretches with some small landslides that have taken away part of the path, and which therefore make the path more difficult, also due to the classic friability of the dolomitic moraines .
For this reason I have indicated this route as "medium difficulty". If you decide to walk the classic path 101, you can consider this path as "easy".
Shortly before arriving at the Locatelli Refuge, I find the entrance to an old casemate, entirely dug into the rock, which has 3 panoramic windows on the surrounding area, so I sling inside to take some nice pictures.
Leaving the casemate, I proceed along the path that leads me directly to the Locatelli Refuge where I stop for a short break and several photos.
I resume the journey following the path with the signs for the Lange Alm refuge (Path 105).
The path first descends with stone steps into the plain below and then climbs up a path with a high slope until it reaches the grassy and rocky plateau at the foot of the Tre Cime.
I continue the journey and soon arrive at the Piccolo refuge Lange Alm, just at lunchtime, so I stop to taste an excellent mixed platter of cheeses and cold cuts and an excellent Weiss beer.
Refreshed, I continue on path 105 and go to the 3 lakes under the Cime di Lavaredo where I stop for a bit of well-deserved rest under the warm sun that comes and goes, like almost every mountain afternoon.
Having rested, I return to path 105 and follow it all the way up to the Col Di Mezzo, western saddle of the three Cime i Lavaredo.
A break for a few photos and then I continue to walk along path 105, which with a few short ups and downs, finally brings me back to the starting parking lot under the Auronzo refuge.
Difficulty:
The only technical difficulties to pay attention to concern the high path that goes from the Forcella Lavaredo to the Locatelli Refuge. The path goes up and down much less than the classic one, but it is more exposed and has some stretches with some small landslides that have taken away part of the path, and which therefore make the path more difficult, also due to the classic friability of the dolomitic moraines.
For this reason I have indicated this route as "medium difficulty". If you decide to walk the classic path 101, you can consider this path as "easy".
My times:
From the Auronzo refuge to the panoramic point: 30 minutes
From the viewpoint to the Forcella Lavaredo: 30 minutes
From the Forcella al Locatelli: 40 minutes
From Locateli to Lange Alm: 1 hour
From Lange Alm to the starting car park: 40 minutes
Good fun.

Peut-on faire cette randonnée en sens inverse ?
Sûr. Salut.
