The Ignis rises above the mountainous massif located to the NE of Baia Mare, from its top you can enjoy excellent views.
This route ascends to the summit from the Izvoare ski resort, along a route marked with paint marks.

To get to Izvoare, it is best to follow the paved road 183 that goes up from Baia Mare. Access to the station from Highway 18 (to the west) is unpaved.
