Itinerary description

From the Baumgartner Hotsprings the dirt road will connect you back to the ICT at the Willow Creek Campground. The trail is ascending up the valley alongside the Willow Creek. There are several good spots for camping next to the Creek (after the established Campground). As the trail gets further up there will be snow over the passes, and the trail will be covered by snow if it’s early in the season and a particularly high snow year. I took off from the ICT and onto a side trail, to get to Decker Creek and Atlanta. First there’s a short climb uphill, then the trail takes you down the valley to Decker Creek, and so up again to the dirt roads that goes down to Atlanta. Atlanta is an interesting historic mining town with some good hot springs.
