Itinerary description

This segment starts with a hike on dirt road along the Hunter Creek. From the Hunter Creek Trailhead the ICT follows the North Fork Lime Trail. You’ll have a beautiful hike in lush green forests down in the valley. The first section of the trail (up until the Bear Gulch) is overgrown and maybe not maintained for a while. I had a couple of minor detours on this leg. The upper section of the North Fork Lime Trail is well maintained. After the ascent up to where the North F Lime Trail meets the Virginia Gulch Trail you’ll have fabulous views to the Sawtooths. Then the trail descends all the way down to the South Fork Boise River. The detour to the Baumgartner Hotsprings is well worth it.
