Itinerary description
First the ICT takes you onto a paved road passing the nice and green Shoshone Park, and further on, to the Fish Hatchery. Once at the Fish Hatchery fork left onto a dirt road. This will run you up the valley along the Little North Fork Creek. A little up the hillside the dirt road ends and you’ll be hiking a single track trail with good views. Once at the top the trail goes down to Little Glidden Lake, then back up again on the ridge. On this leg I continued to hike on the top for a while to see if it was possible to stay up on the ridge, instead of dropping down to the lakes (negative). I therefore backtracked and went down the trail to Pear Lake (or. ICT. The side trip added 6km to the hike). It’s worth while going up some 500m-1km to enjoy the fabulous panoramic view before dropping down to Pear Lake.
