Itinerary description
The day starts with a pleasant hike through the woods then uphill until the Fish Lake Connection Trail will drop you down to the old Fish Lake Cabin (USFS) and the landing strip. From Fish Lake there’s a tiny climb which will provide some good views, before the trail descends all the way down to the Wilderness Gateway. You’ll hike along the Boulder Creek almost all the way down. The trails are really well maintained from Fish Lake, and the scenery very pleasant. Taking the side trip up to the Stanley Hotsprings is recommendable:)
Ps: This leg is an alternate to the original ICT - but a really pleasant one!
