Itinerary description
The trail from Poet Creek CP up to the dirt road is quite challenging several places. It’s hard to see the trail thread, as there are lots of new pine trees and bushes growing in the trail. After a while the trail got better. The scenery is quite pleasant though, and there are some nice viewpoints from the Lynx Meadows. Make notice that there will not be so many watersources in this leg, and that the blowdowns and thick and brushy trail will make it hard to keep up a good pace. The hike on the Patrol Ridge is nice, with lots of beautiful views and good trails.
