Itinerary description

This leg starts with a pleasant descent down to Big Creek. The crossing of Big Creek can be a bit sketchy if there’s been a lot of snowmelt or lots of rain. If so there’s an alternative trail that will bypass the river crossing (trail junction up on the Lookout Mountain Ridge)
After the crossing the trail takes you down alongside the Big Creek for a while before the ICT takes a left and go up the Coxey Creek, then over the top and down to Crescent Meadows. From there you’ll go up Silver Creek. There’s a nice long ridgewalk with some good views after the hike up Silver Creek. I chose doing this instead of following the original ICT that would have dropped me down and then back up on the ridge again. At the end of this leg the trail takes you down to the Moose Meadows.

Crossing the Big Creek can be a bit sketchy in springtime or after big rainfalls. Make sure you know the conditions before you cross. There is an alternative trail with a footbridge that takes off to the left on top of the ridge (Big Creek Trail) that bypasses the crossing
