Itinerary description
A nice hike on good trails long the This A day along the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. On this segment the trail passes the John Bump Cabin before you get to the wonderful natural Hotsprings of Sheepeater. Several pools will give you a good soak. It’s well worth taking the time to stop and enjoy them. Further down the river you’ll pass the landing strip of the Pistol Creek Ranch. Further down the sandy shores next to the Indian Creek Guard Station makes a good place for a rest. This segment takes you through a combination of pine trees and sagebrush areas.
