Itinerary description
Huentitán - Barranca de Santiago. We walked down from the Capilla and to the suspension bridge. After resting at the bridge we crossed and found a trail going downstream on the right bank facing downstream. Often the train was grown over or difficult to find but we continued for at least two or three km on a shelf above the river or on the bank. We believe there is a rancho further downstream but we gave up and returned to the bridge and had a snack. We then went upstream on the river road past Las Juntas and Planta Hidroeléctrica finally connecting to the "Lost Glasses Trail" (our name). Somewhere on this trail my phone died and my tracking stopped. We continued to the top and my effort was difficult with many stops. I gave this a moderate rating but for me it was difficult -- the climb was challenging for me. By the time we got out we had probably done 22 km.
