Itinerary description
Take the Huckaby trail out of the parking lot. Follow the Huckaby trail for 2.3 mile to the creek crossing. In February we needed water shoes to cross the the crossing the water temperature was in the 40's. After crossing Oak Creek, On 2/19/2013 this water crossing was about 2 1/2 feet deep, go uphill for about 0.4 miles and go right at the trail intersection follow this trail to the road for 0.3 miles.
You have to follow the road downhill for a short while. At the parking below on the left side is the Allen Bend Trail head, follow this trail along Oak Creek for .5 miles. Dogs are not allowed in grasshopper point.
At the Casner Canyon trail head, go right straight for Oak Creek on an obvious trail. Find the best area to cross the creek. On 2/19/2013 this water crossing is about 2 feet deep.
After crossing the creek continue up casner canyon trail for 900 feet, the trail was washed away at the start of the canyon so follow the steam into you see a trail on the left, take the trail on the left, the trail starts climbing out of the canyon, you keep climbing for a mile and turn into a side canyon on the left the trail steeple climbs for 0.6 next to basalt pillars on the right with a small seasonal creek running along the cliffs, the trail switch backs up once to the top of the rim.
Once on top follow the Cairn to schnebly hill road what is about 0.8, walk down the road for 1.25 miles to munds wagon trail on the right watch out for cars on the road in the summer. Munds wagon trail is well mark so follow it down 3.75 miles to the parking lot.

The trail is normally moderately difficult.
But when the water is a bit high it's a more slippery crossing.
Before you cross over the the Casner Canyon, hike a bit further upstream and look for a passage.
There are a lot of trails going to the water, so look around first.
Normally the fisherman make a simple log bridge, so you can cross without getting wet.
But February may be too early in the season for them.
It's a really nice trail. It's a bit of a climb up the Casner trail.
In February the road is still closed, but later in the season the schnebly hill road opens and you will encounter a lot of jeeps.
