Itinerary description
This loop mostly apart of the blue-blazed trail system that in its entirety spans the entire state of CT from north to south. Towards the end the blue trail is left and you must travel on a paved road for a short time, then on unmarked trails back to the parking area.
The first few miles are pretty flat with a few technical paths along the way, but once you pass the castle the trail runs along a cliffs edge with rocky trails and a few steep declines.
