Itinerary description
Today on day 2 we hiked from our camp at Laguna Miticocha and walked back to the camp at Miticocha before beginning to track our route. Leaving the campground at 9am.
A slow and steady ascent through the valley with three shorts stops to rest, take photos and admire the views.
Each carrying 15kg we took things slow and steady.
We reached Laguna Carhuacocha by 12:15pm.
We intended to continue and push through to camp at the Tres Lagunas tonight but we loved Laguna Carhuacocha so much that we decided to camp here! We set up just after the little community on the left before the main camp and didn’t have to pay the s/.20 fee per person.
We had gorgeous views of the peaks from our high spot!
**(I forgot to end the tracking when we stopped for lunch so about 30-40 mins of total time can be deducted.)
Even though we had our own food supply for the duration of this hike we took the local villagers up on the offer of a cooked meal of rice, salad, potato and egg for s/.20 each.
